Both stamps were issued on October 23, 1999, with a value of 1.00 Nuevo Sol each ($ 0.35 approx.) Had the purpose of honoring the peace agreement signed between Peru and Ecuador on October 26, 1998.
Peru and Ecuador, since its independence in the nineteenth century until 1998, had a territorial dispute, which constituted the longest conflict in the Western Hemisphere. He is considered a conflict because there was never a declaration of war between the two countries.
