Gaëtan Roussel was born in Rodez, Aveyron, 13 October 1972. As for his musical beginnings are in the early 90's, when he and a fellow student, Robin Feix creates the rock group Caravaggio, in homage to the painter Caravaggio. "Louise Attaque" self-titled album this training, led by Gaëtan Roussel, published in April 1997 and sweeps. Critics and the public give their support and get selling nearly 3 million copies, something that very few have achieved in France. And in 2005 the one and the other back together for the development of a Louis Attaque third album, titled "Crocodile À plus tard" (See you later alligator.) A publication of the album, September 5, 2005, followed an international tour that takes them to Russia, India or South America Quebec, where they receive the award for Artist of the Francophonie which gives the record industry of Quebec (ADISQ). The record, as noted above is also rewarded with a Victoire for Best Pop-Rock Album.

And in 2007, instead of getting to prepare a new album, which apparently was in order, children of Louise Attaque decide to make a new break and that each one is dedicated to their particular projects. So our hero embarks Gaëtan Roussel solo career and he composes for other at first. Composed a soundtrack, that of Louise Michel Gustave Kervern and Benoît Delépine, producing and writing some songs from latest album Alain Bashung "Bleu Pétrole" and other compositions for Rachid Taha and Vanessa Paradis. And back with another score, of Mammoth , also directed by Benoit and Gustave de Kervern Delépine, starring Gérard Depardieu and Caesar nominated for this year. And on March 8, 2010 he published his first solo album "Ginger", the English title for an album comprised of songs sung in English and French. "Help Myself (Nous ne faisons that passer)" (We will just happen), was the first single, and this is the interpretation Gaëtan and live musicians make to the classic French TV show Taratata .



"Ginger" was recorded between New York and Paris, and thanks to him Gaëtan Roussel has become the clear winner of the Victoires de la Musique 2011. This year the prize has been divided into two parts, the first, on February 9, Gaëtan won the Victoire for Best Rock Album, and the second (March 1) got two more: Best Male Artist of Year and Best Album of the Year voted by the public among all winners of the first delivery.
